How to Paint a Pong Table
1. Sand the table
With a sanding sponge or an electric sander, sand your pong table. I’m talking all over the surface (of course) but also along the edges. Make sure that the surface is very scratchy so that your primer and paint can stick!
2. Prime
Prime your pong table using a spray, making sure it’s evenly coated. Let it dry, then do another three to four layers.
3. Tape your sections
Use painter’s tape to make the triangle sections on your table. When taping the cup area on the ends of your table, place your cups in the beer pong triangle formation and tape around them.
4. Paint + Trace
Now we’re on to the best part – painting your table! Paint the background of each triangle section on your table! If you don’t want to risk messing up your designs, I recommend tracing them on tracing paper so you can easily transfer them onto the table, ready for painting. To trace the cups on both ends of the table, simply place your cups in the beer pong triangle formation and trace around the rim of each cup!
5. Peel the tape
Once your table has been painted, allow it to dry completely before peeling off the tape. If you notice that some lines need cleaning up, use white paint to correct them.
6. Seal
The final step to avoid your paint designs from chipping is to take your pong table outside and seal it with epoxy! Once it dries, your pong table is ready to be used!
